Double Basses For Rent
One of the most important factors in a beginning student’s success on the double bass is having an instrument that is well set up and produces a good sound. The student needs to physically feel and hear the difference in the instrument’s response when they are playing with correct left hand, bow, and pizzicato technique. Our rental instruments are expertly adjusted and set up to the same professional standards as every bass in our shop. Our on-site luthier shop is glad to customize your rental instrument’s set up and offers a choice of strings to meet your needs.
Each rental includes a case, bow (French or German style), and rosin. Rent is billed in 3 month increments with 100% of the first years rent offered as purchase credit towards the bass you are renting or any other bass in the shop. Once purchased, instruments have a guaranteed trade-up value of 75% to 100% of the amount paid.
We rent basses in all sizes, including fractional size instruments for the youngest Suzuki bassists. We can ship fractional size instruments (smaller than 1/8) anywhere in the U.S. for rental. Please call or email us for current rental rates.
